“Communication is my passion, because it empowers people”
Hi, I’m David Mark Taylor. I grew up in East Africa and the UK. Now I live near Lake Constance in Switzerland with my wonderful wife Isa. I studied science at Cambridge University, have worked as a translator for ad agencies, music producer and recording artist. Now I earn my living as a communications consultant, helping companies decide what to say and how to say it. But my passion is to help people access the power of a faith connection.
Studies on the frontiers of science
I had the privilege of studying at Cambridge University where many famous scientific discoveries were made. Imagine wandering around in the footsteps of Isaac Newton, studying at the same college as Charles Darwin, doing experiments in the labs where Watson and Crick discovered DNA or doing physics in the labs where Rutherford discovered the structure of the atom. These experiences were thrilling, but not as exciting as reading Experimental Psychology or as intriguing as the History and Philosophy of Science course. These courses took me to the frontiers of human understanding and made me acutely aware of possibilities and limits of science.
Pop recording artist and producer
While I was at college I had a student band and our sound engineer was a PhD mathematician. Ashley explained that he wanted to influence culture and had concluded that pop music was one of the few field where a few people with limited resources could make a big impact. So I turned my back on science and headed off into the music industry where I spent about 15 years as a producer and artist.
